Story From a Newspaper

I read this story at an Egyptian newspaper a few days ago. It was about a letter sent by a man who worked as an engineer for many years. Now he does not work any more. He retired more than 15 years ago.
The man wrote that he worked hard all his life and went to the war to defend his country. He married a young woman from his village many years ago and had two children. He sent the children to private schools and they got jobs as doctors. His children approached him and asked to get money to buy apartments for themselves to get married. He helped them buy the apartments and in addition to that he bought a flat for his wife.
A few days later his wife moved out of his house to live with one of her children at one of the new apartments. They asked him to find a place for himself to live in. The man was shocked to hear that and the kids refused to let him live with any of them.
Some people read the story at the newspaper and most of them felt sorry for the old man. A woman who was brought up at an orphanage sent a comment on the newspaper web site and she said that her husband also was brought up at an orphanage and they had never had a father. She invited the old man to come and live at her house so that she and her husband could feel what it was like to have a father. The woman put her mobile number on the newspaper web site so that the man could contact her.
Another reader was not happy with what the old man wrote in his letter. He said that the old man must have treated his wife and children badly and that was why they didn't want to have anything to do with him any more.
In Egypt this does not happen ver often. Parents are always treated with great respect especially when they get old.
Fill in the gaps:
moved - woman - respect - read - engineer - what - approached - invited
